What Is Quad Skating?
Quad skating, also known as roller skating is a sport in which the participants roll around the rinks or smooth surfaces using the shoe-like boot with four wheels attached to it. Quad skating can also be performed recreationally on the streets, sidewalks and bike paths. Quad skating as a sport includes many different disciplines such as figure skating, speed skating and rhythm skating.
Quad skates are constructed from a shoe like boot with padding that secures your ankle to which is attached a frame that hold four wheels. Two wheels at the front and two at the back. Most quad skates also feature a break that unlike in inline skates is placed on the front of the skate called "toe-stop". The quad skates will generally differ in shapes and sizes depending on the discipline you are taking on however, they are very similar to each other.
What Type of Quad Skates Should I Go With?
There are plenty of different styles of quad skates that suit different quad skating disciplines such as disco, jamming and outdoor workouts. Most quad skates are suitable for every level of skating.
The main factors that separates each form of skates from one another are the designs and styles. Some people might prefer the color-full retro style that will get you feeling that 1970's disco vibe while some skates are made with lower boots that give more freedom for the casual cruising skating.
