Stunt Scooter Wheels - Hardness and Materials
Stunt scooter wheels are a lot different to your standard commuter scooter wheels as they are a lot smaller and tubeless.
The core of a stunt scooter wheel is made from nylon or aluminium. Aluminium cores are much stronger than the nylon cores however, they tend to be much more expensive. Most pro riders choose to go with aluminium cores.
Most of the wheels themselves are made out a rubber compound that comes at 86A durometer which represents the hardness of the wheel. The 86A hardness is the most optimal hardness for a stunt scooter wheel as it provides riders with smooth, semi-soft wheel that will feel comfortable under your feet and will absorb everything you throw at it.
Even though 86A is the most popular hardness wheel, some wheels can be softer or harder. It is important to take your riding style and the area you scoot at into consideration. If you mainly ride street, softer wheels will be more suitable for you however, if you are more of a skatepark guy, the harder set of wheels might fit your needs more.
Stunt Scooter Wheel Sizes
Stunt scooter wheels come in many different sizes to fit different scooters and suit different riding styles. Stunt scooter wheel sizes range from 100-125mm in diameter and 24-28mm in width. When choosing your scooter wheel, you should check what sizes are compatible with your scooter's fork and deck to assure the wheel fits.
