Scooter Axles: Different Sizes
If you have been skating for a while, then you know how it is to round a wheel bolt or crack an axle. It's never fun and always messes up the rest of your day if you don't have a spare. That's exactly the reason why we made this section.. So that you can get yourself a spare axle when you need it most!
When choosing the right axle, we strongly recommend to sticking with the same brand axles as your forks and deck to ensure the correct fitment however, if you decided to go with other set of axles, make sure that the size of the axle and the bolt matches your current axle.
What Material Are Scooter Axles Made Of?
The two main materials used to make scooter axles are steel and aluminium. Steel makes the axle a lot heavier but stronger where the aluminium axles are lighter and not as strong.
What Are The Different Scooter Axle Sizes?
Scooter axle bolts can
vary in diameter from 6-10mm however, the most common axle bolt size
is 8mm. In order to ensure that you are getting the correct size axle
bolt, you should always measure your scooter axle bolt before
purchasing a new one. Another important factor is the length of your
axle, if you buy an axle that's too big, it will be too loose and may
cause a wobble in your wheel while if it's too small you won't be
able to connect the other end of the axle to the fork or the deck.
How Do Pegs Influence Scooter Axle Length?
If you want to run pegs on your scooter, you will have to consider longer axles and spacers that will fit the pegs.
