The sticky part of the grip tape should start letting go making it easier to take the grip tape off. Once the grip tape is fully off, wipe down your deck making sure that there is no leftover glue or dirt stuck to the deck.
Once the deck is clean, depending on the grip tape, cut the grip tape into the shape of your deck leaving some cut-outs for the bolts, rear wheel and the front part of your deck that holds the headtube. Stick the grip tape to one of the ends and align it in order for the grip tape to fall into place. As you progress on putting the grip tape down onto the deck, make sure there are no air bubbles by applying pressure with your hand on the surface of the grip tape.
Once the grip tape is on the deck, use a knife to cut around the edges of the deck so the grip tape fits your deck perfectly.
